Dr. Ignacio Arcos Palomino

Doctor of Medicine and research. University of Barcelona.

Dr. Arcos is a professor in Orthodontics at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. After graduating from Universitat de Barcelona, he obtained his Master’s in Orthodontics (MSc) from Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2009. He earned a PhD in Medicine and Translational

Research from Universitat de Barcelona. He further enhanced his qualifications with a

Diploma in Dental Aesthetics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has participate

in various continuing education programs at Universities around the world. Currently, he

leads a cutting-edge program in digital orthodontics, contributing to the advancement of the

specialty and training professionals in this innovative field. Dr. Arcos is an active member of

the Spanish Society of Orthodontics and serves as the scientific coordinator of the Girona

College of Dentists. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences

and is the author of multiple publications (Revista Española de Ortodoncia, Face and Head

Medicine, Journal of Clinical and Experimental Dentistry...). In addition to his 15 years of

academic experience, Dr. Arcos successfully manages two private practices located in Olot

and Girona, Spain.

Nowadays, the demand for orthodontic treatments has increased in our dental offices,

especially for orthodontic treatments with aligners.

This fact has led to an increase in the prescription of these treatments by professionals,

often without enough knowledge and with poor control of them.

We know that these often have a lack of predictability in many of their movements, which forces us to extend the complementary treatment.

That is why a new reality exists in our daily practice: mixing different orthodontic techniques (aligners and braces), helped by different devices to provide the best results - more dental movement control, reduced costs, and the shortest possible treatment time.

Similarly, the use of new technologies in the field of orthodontics has developed very

quickly. These tools can help us make a more predictable diagnosis and treatment plan

to achieve better orthodontic results.
